A decision table always:

  • addresses questions.

  • implicitly represents decision rules.

  • provides answers (outcomes) selected among several others.

 

Example:

Consider the business rules:

– A customer is considered a VIP Client if he/she has an account for two years or more and if his/her balance is greater than $ 2000.00.

-If the customer has the account for two years or more but a balance less than $ 2000.00, he/she is not considered a VIP Client.

-If the customer has his/her account for fewer than two years, he/she is not considered a VIP Client regardless of the amount in the account.
